How to Use Anglican Prayer Beads

The Anglican Rosary does not have a set sequence of prayers, unlike the Roman Catholic Rosary. Instead, it can be used in a variety of ways. Here is the basic way of praying with the Anglican Rosary:

• Pray an opening prayer on the Cross.

• Say a short sentence of scripture or introductory prayer on the Invitatory.

• The Cruciform beads are usually somewhat longer prayers, used four times between the weeks.

• For the Weeks, repeat some shorter prayer seven times, counting along the beads.

• (The Invitatory may be repeated, or a separate Dismissary may be used.)

• End again with a prayer on the Cross.

This site will provide a number of different sequences of prayers for use with the beads. Of course, anyone can make their own Prayer Forms for use with the Anglican Rosary. Download a worksheet here to get started.
